Type and narrative description of services provided: The project was launched to facilitate the people of above mentioned districts in regard to their energy need and capacity building in proceeding of meeting the energy needs. It includes electrification of households by developing micro hydropower plants, helping in installing improved cooking stove (ICS), biogas plant and solar home system. There is subsidy from donor agency and from governments, which reaches the community people via coordination of RRESC. REMREC, a RRESC of AEPC/ESAP in coordination with Users’ Committees /Cooperatives/Private Sector, and other Local NGOs has already facilitated 100988 beneficiaries of which approximately 50.6% are women.
Brief description of results (supported by smart indicators) achieved of the project:

In the capacity of Regional Renewable Energy Service Centre (RRESC), REMREC implemented 5 Major components of Energy sector Assistance Programme (ESAP) in above said 10 districts viz;

1)      Mini-Grid Support Programme-Micro-hydro projects

2)      Biomass Support Programme-Improved Cook Stoves

3)      Solar support Programme- Solar Photovoltaic Pumping system for drinking and irrigation

4)      Institutional Strengthening- Capacity building and Energy planning

5)      Rural Energy fund-Assistance in subsidy release process and power verification.
